Ukrainian Alexander Usyk, the winner of the fight against British Tyson Fury, will not remain the undisputed heavyweight world champion for long.
Currently, they control all important belts — WBA, WBO, IBF, IBO, and WBC, according to ESPN.
The fight is scheduled to take place on May 18 in the capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh.
A rematch is planned for October this year. The winner will already hold the title of undisputed champion.
The International Boxing Federation has decided that Usyk missed the mandatory defense of the championship belt. So, either he or Fury will lose the title even this summer.
Since August 2023, Croatian Filip Hrgovic has become the mandatory contender for a fight against the Ukrainian. On June 1, he will meet British Daniel Dubois. The winner of the fight will be recognized as the IBF super heavyweight world champion.
