More details on the Usyk — Fury fight
More details have emerged about the organization of the fight for the title of undisputed world champion between the holder of the WBA, WBO, IBO, and IBF belts, Alexander Usyk, and WBC champion Tyson Fury.
According to an official announcement, the Usyk — Fury bout will take place on May 18th in Riyadh.
The publication Ready to Fight reports that the organizers of this fight have taken serious measures to ensure its execution. According to their information, in case the «Gypsy King» refuses to participate in the bout, he will be required to pay a compensation of $10 million. The same sanctions apply to Alexander Usyk.
The Head of the General Entertainment Authority of Saudi Arabia, Turki Al-Asheikh, has confirmed the information regarding possible sanctions for the boxers.
«This is the last chance that we are giving for this fight to take place, and I have chosen the date — May 18. I have guarantees in the form of $10 million if any of the boxers refuse to fight, and this money will be deducted from their personal accounts,” commented Turki Al-Asheikh to MMAFightingSBN.
Additionally, Turki Al-Asheikh emphasized that May 18th is the final opportunity for this fight to happen. If Tyson Fury or Alexander Usyk are unable to step into the ring on the specified date, a replacement will be found for the other fighter.
