Representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate Discusses Prospects for Magura V5 Drones
Representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Yevhen Yerin, discussed the prospects for the modification and use of the Magura V5 maritime drones in the live broadcast of the telethon «Yedini Novyny» on June 26.
Answering the host’s question about possible modifications to the Magura, Yevhen Yerin replied: «We are actively working on improving and enhancing the capabilities of drones. Work is being done in various directions to enhance defense and targeting abilities on water and in the air.»
He also emphasized that all possibilities for the use of maritime drones are being considered and stressed the importance of effectively using this type of weaponry to achieve victory on all fronts.
«The Magura V5 can operate at a distance of up to 800 km, opening up broad opportunities for our defense strategy,» added the representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate.
It is worth noting that one of the new modifications of the unmanned maritime platform Magura is already capable of carrying R-73 missiles equipped with an infrared homing system, which are successfully used in combat conditions.
Earlier in May, using Ukrainian strike maritime drones Magura V5, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine successfully attacked Russian shipyards in occupied Crimea.
According to information from ArmiaInform, the Main Intelligence Directorate is also studying the possibility of countering occupiers in the Azov Sea using Magura drones.
