In Donetsk region, civil defense structures renovated in schools

In Donetsk region, protective civil defense structures, including simple shelters, have been renovated or built in 28 schools. This was reported by the Department of Education of Donetsk region, according to Suspilne.

It is noted that a total of 48.96 million hryvnias of budget funds were used for the repair and construction of shelters in schools in the region.

Following surveys, five civil defense structures and 39 simple shelters in general education institutions can be used for evacuating students and staff. These schools, after the end of hostilities and stabilization of the security situation in the region, will be able to resume the educational process in a hybrid format or in-person, taking into account the capacity of the shelters and the actual number of students.

The regional education department explained that decisions on the format of organizing the educational process from September 1, 2024 in schools in the region with prepared shelters will be made by local self-government bodies in coordination with the head of the regional state administration and the chief of the regional military administration, taking into account the security situation.
