Prices for dairy products have increased in Ukraine

Significant Increase in Dairy Prices in Ukraine

Against the backdrop of stabilization of prices for milk raw materials, in Ukraine, in the last month, there has been a significant increase in prices for most dairy products in retail chains, with the exception of kefir, sour milk cheese, Maasdam, and Suluguni cheeses.

This was reported by the analyst of the Association of Milk Producers (AMP) Georgiy Kukhaleyshvili. The specialist explained that the prices increased due to the strengthening of internal prices for milk raw materials and the activation of export activities of Ukrainian dairy companies. A decrease in the supply of milk raw materials in the domestic market also led to price increases.

Ukraine also noted an improvement in the profitability of dairy production, which is related to the increase in prices for butter, cheeses, and dry dairy products in the world markets, as well as the devaluation of the hryvnia.

According to a study by Kantar agency, the popularity of drinking yogurts among Ukrainians has increased, and the share of fresh cheeses, such as Mozzarella and Suluguni, has also grown.

The agency Your Total Market reported that the most popular dairy products among Ukrainians in 2023 were drinking milk and yogurts.
