Poachers with a catch worth of 230 thousand hryvnias were detained in the Dniester Liman

In the Dniester estuary, water police officers have detained two poachers who caused damage of over 230,000 hryvnias.

According to the press service of the police in the Odessa region, the offenders were found with a boat, over 200 meters of poaching nets, and 78 fish of various species, including carp, tench, crucian carp, bleak, and Black Sea herring.

All seized materials have been transferred to a specialized enterprise for further review.

Information about the incident has been entered into the Unified Register of pre-trial investigations under Part 1 of Article 249 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Poachers face a fine ranging from 17 to 51 thousand hryvnias, probation for up to three years, or imprisonment for the same period.
