Naftogaz significantly accelerates fuel injection at gas storage facilities

Accelerated pace of fuel accumulation in underground gas storage facilities

On May 29, 2024, Kyiv — This year, Naftogaz Group significantly accelerated the pace of fuel accumulation in underground gas storage facilities (PSGs), exceeding last year’s figures for the same period by 0.33 billion cubic meters.

This is evidenced by the data of PJSC Ukrtransgaz, the PSG operator in Ukraine, which is part of the Naftogaz Group.

«The high injection rates became possible thanks to the warm weather in April and the increase in gas production volumes. In the first five months of 2024, UkrGasVydobuvannya increased gas production by 10% compared to the same period last year. This is indeed a significant result, and we will make every effort to maintain this trend and achieve even better results by the end of the year,» said Naftogaz Group CEO Oleksiy Chernyshov.

He also added that this result was achieved through the implementation of modern technologies that allow for more precise determination of well locations, speeding up the drilling process, and reducing the number of accidents.
