Kharkiv faces new threat: Terekhov on new shelling and the need to protect the sky

The Mayor of Kharkiv Addresses Recent Aggressions

The Mayor of Kharkiv, Igor Terekhov, recently announced that the city has not experienced a physical approach of Russian troops, but is facing a new form of aggression — the use of modern ammunition for shelling.

Recent Attacks on Shevchenkivskyi District

On March 27, the Russian forces launched an attack on the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kharkiv using large-caliber guided projectiles. The attack resulted in significant damage to buildings, including two five-story buildings, a medical facility, an administrative building, and children’s playgrounds. Additionally, an educational institution building was damaged. Tragically, one person lost their life, and 19 others were injured as a result of the attack. Similar strikes were reported on the evening of March 31.

Ensuring Air Defense for Kharkiv

Mayor Terekhov emphasized the urgent need for modern air defense systems over Kharkiv to protect against such attacks. While the responsibility of providing air defense systems lies with the military and state leadership, Terekhov highlighted the critical importance of ensuring the safety of the city’s residents.

Dismissing Rumors of Russian Military Advance

Addressing rumors of a Russian military advance on Kharkiv, Mayor Terekhov stated that such claims are part of a Russian information special operation and urged residents not to support or spread false reports. It is essential to remain vigilant and stay informed through reliable sources during these challenging times.
