The Sumy District Prosecutor’s Office Indicts Director for Embezzlement
The Sumy District Prosecutor’s Office has approved and sent to court an indictment against the director of a private enterprise for embezzlement of budget funds through falsification of documents (part 1 of article 366 and part 4 of article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, in 2020, the mentioned enterprise was carrying out major repairs of the building of the Myropil Educational Complex, specifically insulating the facade. During these works, the contractor illegally entered data into official documents regarding the use of mineral boards and mineral wool, overstating the total area of insulation by more than 140 m2.
An economic forensic examination confirmed that the inflation of the actual cost of the work done amounts to 377 thousand hryvnias, causing damage to the budget.
Pre-trial investigation has been completed by the investigators of the Sumy District Police Department under the procedural guidance of the prosecutor’s office.
