European Council President to Attend World Summit in Switzerland
European Council President Charles Michel recently held a phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and confirmed his attendance at the upcoming World Summit in Switzerland. This was announced on Michel’s Twitter page, as reported by RBC-Ukraine.
Common Belonging and the Future of the European Union
During the conversation, which took place on Europe Day, Michel and Zelensky emphasized their common belonging and discussed the future of the European Union. Michel also confirmed his participation in the Ukrainian peace summit scheduled for June 15-16. He called on all world leaders to support efforts for peaceful resolution organized by Switzerland.
Important Issues to be Discussed
The World Summit in Switzerland was proposed by Zelensky in 2022 and is set to take place in June of this year. The summit will address various important issues, including the possibility of a prisoner exchange in the «all for all» format, as well as nuclear and food security concerns. Representatives from over 100 countries have been invited to participate, although Russia will not be in attendance.
