Biden pledges support to Ukraine in confrontation with Russia

President of the United States of America Joe Biden has confirmed his promise to support Ukraine

President of the United States of America Joe Biden has confirmed his promise to support Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression. He made this statement on Saturday, June 8, during a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris.

Macron promises to create a coalition of military instructors

French President Macron announced during a press conference with President Volodymyr Zelensky the creation of a coalition of Western states that will send their military instructors to Ukraine.

«Many of our partners have already agreed. We know that we will not be alone, and we will use the coming days to organize this broad coalition,» he said.

According to Macron, «Ukraine is mobilizing many more people today and they will need to be trained.» «There will be tens of thousands of new soldiers. And it is much more effective and practical to train people on Ukrainian territory in these conditions. This is a legitimate measure,» he emphasized.

At the same time, he emphasized that France is not at war with Russia, and sending military instructors is not an escalation.

«We do not want escalation, but we want to do everything possible to help Ukraine resist. So, when Ukraine asks to train its mobilized soldiers on its territory, is this escalation? No. This is not sending European soldiers or allies to the front line. This is recognizing Ukrainian sovereignty on its territory,» he concluded.
