Trump: I Warned Putin Not to Invade Ukraine

Trump Warned Putin Against Sending Troops to Ukraine During His Presidency

Former US President Donald Trump has stated that he personally warned Vladimir Putin never to send Russian troops to Ukrainian territory. Trump made this statement in an interview with Bloomberg, emphasizing that good relations between him and Putin prevented any threats of war in Ukraine.

According to Trump, if he had remained president, Russia would not have had intentions to invade Ukraine. However, he expressed concerns about the current situation, blaming President Joe Biden for escalating tensions. Trump claimed that Biden’s actions have caused Russia and China to unite and pose a new threat to global security.

The Washington Post previously reported that Trump had discussed the possibility of using military force against Moscow and Beijing in case of an invasion of Ukraine or Taiwan. While he did not disclose specific plans for Ukraine, Trump believed he could resolve the conflict if given a second term.

During debates with Biden, Trump criticized Putin’s demands and urged for Ukrainian sovereignty to be respected, denouncing any attempts to prevent Ukraine from joining NATO. The geopolitical landscape has shifted in recent years, according to the former president, highlighting the need for diplomatic solutions to prevent further conflicts.
