Heavy Rains Cause Flooding in Baden-Württemberg

Heavy rains have caused flooding in the German region of Baden-Württemberg, with the «Rhein-Neckar» arena falling victim to the flood along with the stadium of the Bundesliga football club Hoffenheim.

Videos that have emerged show the arena completely flooded, with the field destroyed. During prolonged and intense rains, the «Rhein-Neckar» arena, opened in 2009, turned into a real pool.

Hoffenheim’s Stadium Affected

The stadium can accommodate 30,000 spectators, and last season Hoffenheim finished in seventh place and qualified for the Europa League. So far, Hoffenheim has not made a public comment on the flood, while in Baden-Württemberg, the fourth level of alarm has been declared due to heavy rains.
