Scientists Confirm Inland Taipan as World’s Most Venomous Snake
Scientists from Australia have conducted a recent study confirming that the Inland Taipan, also known as the Western Taipan or fierce snake, is the most venomous snake on the planet. This discovery once again highlights the danger posed by these rare but extremely poisonous inhabitants.
Deadly Venom
The Inland Taipan, which resides in remote and sparsely populated areas of central Australia, has long attracted the attention of herpetologists and toxicologists. Its venom is so potent that one bite can kill 100 people or 250,000 mice. This makes its venom the deadliest among all snakes on the planet.
Composition and Active Substance of Venom
The venom of the Inland Taipan consists of highly effective neurotoxins, hemotoxins, mycotoxins, and proteases. The main active substance, which paralyzes the victim’s nervous system, is so powerful that death can occur within just 45 minutes after a bite without the provision of medical assistance.
