Law enforcement officers in Kiev region uncovered a group of individuals involved in illegal logging and selling of trees without permits. The group now faces charges for violating laws on unauthorized logging, transportation, and sale of trees. The case is being handled by the Bila Tserkva District Prosecutor’s Office.
The violations took place in Bila Tserkva district, where three residents of Kiev region were found to have illegally logged trees in forest protection areas from 2023 to 2024. They then sold the timber to locals, dividing the profits among themselves. The total losses were estimated at nearly one million hryvnias.
