The Ministry of Climate Protection in Austria will provide Ukraine with five million euros to restore the energy infrastructure, which has suffered significant damage due to the war. According to RBC-Ukraine, citing Der Standard, Austrian Minister of Climate Protection Leonore Gewessler emphasized that Austria, as a neutral country, is committed to supporting humanity in this conflict.
Ukrainian Ambassador to Austria Vasyl Khymynets expressed gratitude for this «strong signal of solidarity.» He stressed the importance of financial assistance for the restoration of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, which has been affected by Russian air strikes and artillery shelling. The funds will be used for the purchase of spare parts, generators, and the repair of power lines to ensure Ukrainians have electricity.
The money will be distributed through the Energy Community and aimed at the urgent needs of Ukraine’s energy sector.
