Increased Risk of Flooding in Cherkasy Region
Due to the release of water through the cascade of Dnipro reservoirs in Cherkasy and Zolotonosha districts of Cherkasy region, the risk of flooding in the riverine territories has increased. The State Emergency Service of Ukraine reports that the situation remains tense, especially in the upper reaches of the Kremenchuk reservoir.
Preventive Measures Taken by Rescuers
The head of Cherkasy Regional State Administration, Ihor Taburets, notes that the second level of danger has been declared. Rescuers are taking preventive measures to prevent the situation from deteriorating and to strengthen the flooded areas. They are also providing assistance to residents who have been cut off from land and are ready to provide necessary aid.
Monitoring with Drones
Four groups of emergency services continue to monitor the situation using drones. In the village of Kreshchatyk in Moshno territorial community, streets are flooded, and 12 households and 13 houses are cut off from the land as a result of the flooding.
