Large Fires Break Out in Kharkiv Region After Shelling From Russia

In the Kharkiv region, a series of fires erupted following a wave of shelling from Russia, as reported by the Main Department of the State Emergency Service.

Devastating Impact of Shelling

On April 7, the center of Kharkiv was hit by Russian shells, causing several fire outbreaks including in residential areas, garages, and cars. Firefighters managed to extinguish the fires only after significant damage had been done.

In Kazacha Lopan, a residential house was completely destroyed by the fires, while in Kruglyakivka of Kupiansk district, a shell hit a house causing a fire to spread across 120 square meters.

Efforts to Contain the Fires

Furthermore, grass cover spanning 1000 square meters in Derhachi caught fire as a result of the shelling. Specialized units of the State Emergency Service were mobilized to extinguish the flames.

Overall, 33 fires across 18 hectares of land were successfully put out by rescuers. Firefighters are working tirelessly to control the fires and minimize the damage caused by these destructive attacks.
