Border Guards Uncover Weapons Trading Channel
Border guards have uncovered a channel through which weapons were being traded. Several individuals involved in the scheme have been detained, with one of them facing suspicion.
Personal Connections Utilized for Illegal Transactions
According to the State Border Guard Service press service, the man found «clients» through personal connections and only conducted transactions during personal meetings. The most recent deal involved the sale of a suitcase filled with weapons and explosives.
Seized Items Include Pistols, Explosives, and More
Three pistols, magazines, nearly 250 bullets of various calibers, grenades, a signaling device, explosives, the casing of an anti-tank mine, and 6,000 hryvnias obtained from illegal arms trading were seized.
Suspects Being Identified and Arrested
«Supply channels for weapons and individuals involved in them are being identified. One of the suspects in the case has been arrested and is facing suspicion,» the State Border Guard Service announced.
Previous Cases of Illegal Weapons Trading
Previously, in Dnipro, law enforcement officers arrested a gang involved in weapons trading. In Kherson, a priest from the UOC-MP will be prosecuted for trading weapons, having sold two Igla anti-aircraft missile systems for 3,000 dollars in September 2023.
