Ukrainians are advised to obtain a driver’s license legally

Ukrainians Must Obtain a Driver’s License Through Legal Procedures

Ukrainians should obtain a driver’s license only through legal procedures, as severe punishment may be imposed for falsifying these documents. This was emphasized by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, according to novyny.pro.

Process of Obtaining a Driver’s License

To obtain a driver’s license, Ukrainians must pass both theoretical and practical driving tests. Theoretical training can be done at a driving school or independently, but the exam must be taken at the relevant MIA service center. The theoretical exam allows for up to two mistakes, after which a retake can only be done after 10 days. The practical exam requires the ability to drive a car while following all traffic rules under the supervision of an instructor. Only successful completion of both exams allows for the issuance of a legal driver’s license.

Warning Against Using Forged Driver’s Licenses

The MIA warns of the high risk of using forged driver’s licenses that are almost indistinguishable from official ones. The best way to verify the document’s legitimacy is to check it in the «Actions» register or in the driver’s personal electronic cabinet. If a driver’s license is found to be forged, this can lead to serious legal consequences. Falsifying documents is punishable by law with heavy sanctions, including a fine of up to 50 non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens (75,700 UAH), as well as possible probation or imprisonment for up to two years.
