Malaysia’s Growing Influence in the Data Center Industry
Malaysia is quickly establishing itself as a key player in the data center industry in Southeast Asia and beyond, fueled by the increasing demand for cloud computing and artificial intelligence.
Leading tech giants like Google, Nvidia, and Microsoft have poured billions of dollars into the country’s data center infrastructure in recent years, with a significant focus on the city of Johor Bahru near the border with Singapore.
According to James Murphy, director of DC Byte in the APAC region, Johor Bahru is poised to surpass Singapore as the largest market in Southeast Asia in the near future, a remarkable transformation from its negligible presence just a couple of years ago.
